This not the first time that Dr Cuzin has made discoveries in Morocco.  In 1996 he found a population of wild growingDragon Trees,Dracaenadraco, in the Anti Atlas south of Agadir, which have since been recognized as a new subspecies Dracaena draco ssp ajgal. While Dragon Trees are emblematic of the Canary Islands, this previously unrecorded population of the species, Dracaena draco, are the first known to be growing wild anywhere on the African continent.

It is one of the joys of living in Morocco that there is always something to discover and learn.  No matter how long you live in a country, how deep your knowledge, you can never know it all and your curiosity will always be rewarded.
